Top issues that would impact business



The most important economic and social issues that affect people's lives

New innovations have begun to take shape and create incitement for development. Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data highlighted among other interesting projects. However, issues related to 2017 seems a never ending debate in the socio-economic community. We are talking today about consequences of the outcome of the presidential election in the United States as a negative political change and the global crisis in economy. Brexit and election in France that has created a great uncertainty in the European market and now as Ireland's uncertainty in the matter further contribute to the low credibility of the stock exchanges in Europe. We face that the credibility has decreased of the standards Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well. The financial bubble is not only a federal issue for property markets no more, but also a matter for investors who do not have enough competence in the fundamental indexing analyzes. The scale of these problems has direct implications on businesses sustainability. We have also in the last two years seen dramatic human rights violations from large parts of the world as a growing problem. But we also hope that these challenges will create new opportunities.

With this secular perspective I intend to talk a little bit about the local development perspective here in the Arctic and I am committed to cooperation in the Barents Region Development Agencies for a transnational dialog. What we see today is a stagnating economic development for this region with direct reference to the low iron ore price for revenue in the mining sector. Society with an overburdened generation shift has a great need for alternative industries in order to balance the growth in this region as in the rest of the world. Our region is in a great need for rehabilitation of information search.

Small and medium-sized businesses in our region today are undermined by zero margin games with activities while The funds by the EU in principle are administered between established institutions internal services or non-existing. The funds by the EU must be provided for the innovative and creative industry and the development of growth. If we instead let an uncertainty to consist in a society and a society to stagnate, then we have big problems for a long time to come.

Indeed, I am also thinking of how prices of saw timber and pulpwood will be during the spring when we shall sell the harvested wood. A low demand contribute to a low price and a high demand means a better price. Let us hear about your ideas for the year to come. Feel free to leave your comment about your perspective of this.

China's Navy an Emerging Global Force

 While still a long way off from challenging the United States as the predominant world naval power, China's modernized People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) is beginning to take a more assertive role in an expanding theater of operations.

Previously content on patrolling coastal waters and preparing for an armed conflict with Taiwan, China now has a naval presence all along commercial sea routes to the Middle East and has stepped up military operations in the contested waters of the East and South China Seas.

On April 10, a Chinese flotilla of 10 destroyers, frigates, and submarines from the East Sea Fleet, based in Ningbo, travelled through Japan's Miyako Straight on to the Pacific to conduct open ocean military exercises. A few days earlier, China's North Sea Fleet, based in Qingdao, passed through the Bashi Straight between the Philippines and Taiwan to do similar military exercises in the South China Sea. The PLA Navy's recent operations in the region have troubled China's coastal and island neighbors, with Japan's government particularly irked by the proximity of the maneuvers to Japanese territory.

Chinese President Hu Jintao met with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama during the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington on April 13, assuring him that China's intentions in the East China Sea are to turn the region into an area of peace, friendship, and cooperation.

"China does not hold an intention to challenge the U.S. in the central Pacific or engage in a military clash with Japan in close waters, though it is willing to protect its core interests at any cost," China's state-owned Global Times printed today in an attempt to comfort the world. The problem with the statement is that China has expanded what it defines as its "core interests." Beijing has previously reserved the term for areas such as Tibet and Taiwan, but now places its territorial claims in the South China Sea under the "core interest" category, according to the New York Times. Beijing may find its Southeast Asian neighbors, including Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, take issue with that statement.

U.S. officials in Washington are also fretting over the implications of a growing Chinese presence in the Middle East. In March, two Chinese frigates made port in the United Arab Emirates' capital of Abu Dhabi; the first time in modern history that a PLAN vessel has docked in the Middle East. Beijing also committed three warships to the Gulf of Aden in December 2008 to aid with international antipiracy efforts; the first time in modern history Chinese naval forces have been deployed beyond the Pacific Ocean.

Quantitatively, China and the United States are already on a similar playing field. A 2009 Pentagon report estimated the number of active Chinese naval vessels at 260, including 75 major warships and more than 60 submarines, compared to the U.S. Navy's 286 active vessels.

Qualitatively, though, China's navy remains decades behind that of the United States.  Ten of the American Navy's 286 active vessels are Nimitz-class nuclear powered supercarriers - each one capable of operating continuously for up to 20 years without refueling while holding up to 90 aircraft and 5,600 personnel. In contrast, China doesn't have any aircraft carriers, and although Beijing has revealed that it will complete the first Chinese carrier within the next few years, the United States will surely belittle that accomplishment when it launches the new Ford-class supercarrier in 2015.

China's official military budget for 2009 stood at US$70.3 billion, good for second highest in the world, but the Pentagon estimates that China's military spending last year was in the range of US$105 billion to US$150 billion. Whichever figure you use, it pales in comparison to the roughly US$533.8 billion proposed by U.S. President Obama for 2010. That translates into an expensive long-term battle for China if it wants to challenge America's global military presence in the 21st Century.

China's Tibet Price: The South China Sea

 The fallout from the recently held ASEAN summit in Hanoi has far reaching implications for China and the region, but also indicates rising disquiet of China's attempts to gain regional assertiveness. With Vietnam currently chairing ASEAN, the item that China had wanted to avoid discussion over - ownership of parts of the South China Sea - well and truly gained the glare of the spotlight.

That the region is disputed is beyond doubt, the Paracel and Spratly Islands lie in these waters and are claimed in all or in part by China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei, all of which have stationed troops on various sections. The entire land mass of the Spratlys is a little less than five square kilometers, however in total the Spratlys include 148 or so islets, coral reefs, and seamounts scattered over an area of nearly 410,000 square kilometers of the central South China Sea.

The Paracel Islands, meanwhile, consist of over 30 islets, sandbanks or reefs, occupy about 15,000 square kilometers of the ocean surface, and are also located in the South China Sea. Currently under Chinese control, they are also claimed by Vietnam and Taiwan, the latter which mirrors politically the Mainland Chinese position. The islands are considered important for several reasons: the fishing rights, submarine military access to deep water ocean, the potential for oil and gas exploitation, and tourism. A successful Chinese claim will also take the associated sea bed claims directly to the coast of all of eastern Vietnam, and could effectively seal Vietnamese shipping off from any other sea access. Understandably, Vietnam is highly nervous about this, while China wants to control the waves in its own backyard.

China's diplomatic solution to dealing with the situation has been to flex its financial muscle and to insist that negotiations over sovereignty of the islands take place with it alone, on a bilateral basis. That has left each individual claimant out on a limb and has negated any involvement of ASEAN, unilaterally a more powerful bloc, out of the picture.

China is not a member of ASEAN, and does not have voting or sanction rights. Step forward to Vietnam, the current ASEAN chair, and fast forward to last month's meetings in Hanoi. Inviting the United States to participate, like China, as an "observer," the Hanoi meeting quickly got on with business and brought to the table the one topic China did not want to hear about - the sovereignty of the South China Sea. While attending the meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was quick to observe from the sidelines that the dispute was now high on the agenda as part of America's international interests. Noting that commercial shipping passed through the seas, she effectively indicated that the issue was no longer one that China would be able to unilaterally dictate. The repercussions are going to rumble on, and have dealt a major blow to Chinese assertiveness in the waters.

In part, China only has itself to blame. Although Tibet was never mentioned as part of the dispute in the South China Sea, and the Chinese position over its sovereignty is both very clear and undisputed by all attending ASEAN nations and observers, it is obvious that China's 60 year old assertiveness towards regional disputes has reached a plateau. Buddhism is still a strong influence in many ASEAN member countries and the plight of the Dalai Lama, while not officially recognized or discussed, still causes regional discomfort. Add to that skirmishes with Vietnam in 1979, and still ongoing border disputes over Tibetan territorial claims with India, and China's position as asserting more regional sovereignty is now starting to be questioned.

While China has moved on from 1979 and the days when it could engage in Southeast Asian diplomacy down the barrel of a gun, its relative strengths in terms of investment and financial muscle can make it hard for individual nations to resist overtures. Contracts have been dangled as incentives to secure sovereignty, and used as punishments through cancellations to show displeasure. Collectively, ASEAN has more bargaining power, and is a sizeable trading bloc that can stand up to China's belligerence. It also diminishes the possibility of China punishing errant neighbor countries by taking the onus away from unilateral discussions. Add the United States to that mix and the situation gets less sustainable for China to press claims over disputed lands. While the Chinese always claim to have long memories, it's a game now being played by ASEAN members, and the situation over China's handling over the Tibet issue still reverberates. While that issue is not going to be discussed, the price to pay for it is now arriving - a toughening of regional attitudes towards further Chinese territorial claims and, specifically, China's influence over the South China Sea.

Muslim Brotherhood and the Upheavals in the Middle East

 The most important figure of Muslim Brotherhood since its establishment in 1928 is the writings of a long dead Egyptian Muslim scholar called Sayyid Qutb (1906-66). Outside the Muslim world, he remains virtually unknown, yet he has been cited as the figure that has most influenced al-Qaida leaders namely, Usama Bin Ladin and Dr. Anwar al-Zawahiri.

Sayyid Qutb is considered a prominent figure in the development of Jihadi Salafi ideology; born in a slum area along the Nile Valley, in Egypt, and enjoyed both Western and Islamic education, a typical background for a modern-day jihadist intellectual. His major influential work among the Muslim population is Ma'alim fil Tariq or Milestones on the Road.  Sayyid Qutb was accused of trying to overthrow the government of Nasser and subsequently executed in 1966.

Qutb is regarded as the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood; he argued that Islam is the religion of the whole universe and that Islamic Sharia and the spiritual principles of the Quran, should be the law governing the universe. He labels the West as "jahiliyya" or ignorant of the law of Allah, and argues that a true Muslim would be rejecting his God if he obeys any man-made government and its laws. He argues that the false gods of the Muslims living in the United States would be the President, Congress, Supreme Court, and the Constitution which empowers them. According to Qutb, a Muslim cannot serve Allah alone if he acknowledges the authority of Western institutions (jahili).

Sayyid Qutb refused to recognize the doctrine of separation of religion and state; he claimed that Muslims who abide by man-made laws, such as the U.S. Constitution, will be unable to share Islamic relationships with fellow Muslims because of the doctrine of Separation. He called for the establishment of Islamic Sharia for the Muslim community everywhere they are found, and use their utmost to convert others to Islam. He claimed that secular constitutions restrict the faith of Islam, and inevitably, there will be a conflict between the demands of Western governments and Islam. He said a true Muslim living in the West is not free to serve his God because he has to live by man-made laws and recognize their authority instead of God's law represented by the Islamic sharia. Additionally, Ataturk, closed the traditional religious schools and abolished Islamic Sharia; veiling of women were officially discouraged, Western clothing for men and women were encouraged and Western calendar was adopted to replace Islamic calendar. New civil, commercial, and penal codes based on European models were adopted. A new civil code ended Islamic polygamy and divorce and introduced a new civil marriage code. New Turkish alphabet modified after Latin, replaced the Arabic alphabet, the language of the Quran. Islamic call for prayer and public reading of the Quran required being in Turkish rather than Arabic. Women were given right to vote and right to hold office, Sunday was adopted as legal weekly holiday instead of Friday and the Westernization process of Turkey began. As a result of all these and many other changes, Turkey became a secular state.

Such changes were seen by the Muslim population in the Middle East and North Africa as being taken under  Western influence and do not comply with Islamic sharia. In 1928, the Muslim Brotherhood (al-Ikhwan al-Muslimeen Movement) was established. Following the independence of the states in the Middle East and North Africa, every constitution of these states contains provisions stating that Islam is the religion of the state and Islamic sharia is the source law. Among all these states, only Lebanon and Turkey have no such provisions.

In the Egyptian Parliamentary elections in December 2005, Islamic Brotherhood Movement increased its presence in Parliament five-fold. The goal of the Movement is to utilize democracy to gain a majority in the elections in order to implement Islamic sharia as the law of the land. Muslim Brotherhood has the potential to take over every single state in the Middle East and North Africa and enforce Islamic sharia as Sayyid Qutb saw it.

 When many people think of Mexico beachfront for sale, they imagine it's the same everywhere you buy.  Not so.  Let's take, for example, two of Mexico's biggest real estate markets for expats - Puerto Vallarta real estate and Cancun real estate; a comparison of the two will show the contrast in style and the variety of opportunities.

Of course, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun share some important common factors, including:

- Beautiful beaches
- Full modern services and easy and affordable air access

Yet the two areas are very distinct in their visual style and lifestyle atmosphere.  Consider some of the following contrasts.

Sunsets vs. Sunrises - Condos in both locations offer splendid views.  However, since Puerto Vallarta is on the Pacific, facing westward, the views included the magnificent sunsets over the Pacific.  These views are incredible.  While Cancun doesn't offer sunsets it does offer beautiful views of the sunrise for those who enjoy rising early and drinking a coffee with the chill of the night can still be felt.   Cancun's views also include the unique turquoise of the Caribbean Sea, which is fairly unique to the area.

Leasing Retail Space - Defaulting on the Lease

 Relocation Clause

Many retail space leases provide the landlord the option of relocating the tenant at the landlord's expense. For example, consider a local retailer leasing 2000 square feet of retail space in a regional mall. The landlord is attempting to lease 10,000 square feet of space to a national retailer. However, to consummate the lease they need the 2000 square feet of space occupied by the smaller, local tenant.

You Lose

Even if the landlord pays 100% of the cost to move your store, you will incur a loss. In addition to the time spent planning and executing the move, it will disrupt your business. Some previous customers will believe you have gone out of business and instead of realizing you've moved to a different location within the mall. Relocation clauses are another issue where the interests of the landlord and the tenant diverge.

Event of Default

An "event of default" is when either party does not perform as agreed upon in the lease. In some leases, the landlord has the right to terminate the lease if the tenant defaults. This can include both objective and subjective issues. An objective issue is timely payment of rent. A subjective of issue could be a product or service offered by the tenant which was not initially contemplated.

Non-Financial Event of Default - Example

For example, the tenant initially sold skateboards but is now also selling clothing for skateboarding. (Leases often define precisely what business the tenant may perform in the retail space. From a technical perspective, even a slightly different type of business is a violation of the lease, which is an event of default.)

Financial Event of Default - Example

Most landlords and most tenants act reasonably. However, some people are unreasonable. Consider the following example. Retail space is leased at a fixed rental rate agreed upon 10 years ago. The contract rent is $15 per square foot but the market rent is $30 per square foot. The lease continues for another 10 years at the same rental rate. Due to a clerical error, the tenant forgets to send a rent payment one month. The tenant has an exemplary history of timely payment for the previous 10 years.

However, this is an event of default on the lease. Instead of calling the tenant to inquire regarding the current month's rent, the landlord sends the tenant a notice of default. The notice of default informs the tenant the lease has been terminated and demands the tenant vacate the premises within 30 days.

What is Reasonable?

A reasonable solution is for the landlords to provide written notice in the event of a default. The tenant should have a reasonable period of time to cure the default. This issue becomes more complex when it is not possible for either the tenant or the landlord to cure the default.

What if Landlord Can't Perform?

For example, a lease includes an affirmation by the landlord to comply with local laws and regulations. However, city council retroactively increases the parking requirements. (The number of parking spaces required per 1000 square feet of space.) This issue is being intensely litigated by local retail center operators. However, final resolution of the litigation is not expected for three or four years. Should the tenant have the right to terminate the lease in this situation?

Dispute Resolution

Most retail space leases address the venue for resolving disputes between the tenant and landlord. In most cases, the venue is state district court in either the location of the retail property or where the landlord is headquartered. The former is prevalent. There's a growing trend to require binding arbitration for disputes. The advantage it is a less expensive process to resolve differences of opinion. The disadvantage is forgoing some of your rights for a process which can be even more arbitrary than state district court.

Right to Terminate

Finally, tenants should consider providing themselves an escape clause. When starting a business, a high level of optimism and the excitement is typical and understandable. However, the actual business results sometimes fall far, far short of what was expected.

Right to Terminate - Example

For example, assume you had expected sales of $20,000 per week for your retail store and thought the very lowest level that could possibly occur would be $5,000 per week. Even though the $5,000 per week seemed like a very pessimistic scenario, you were comforted that the business would be profitable at this level. At least you'd be all the pay your expenses and pay yourself a barely adequate salary.

Example Continued

Unfortunately, the pessimistic scenario turned out to be wildly optimistic. For whatever reason, the stores only generating sales of $1500 per week. This is inadequate to pay your cost of operations.

What Rights Should You Require?

Should you have a right to terminate your five-year lease in this scenario? If you do terminate the lease, what is a reasonable amount to pay for expenses incurred by the landlord?

Beware of the Consequences

Although termination clauses and personal guarantees may seem like an arcane nuance when negotiating the lease for your new business, they are critical factors. If you personally guarantee the lease and do not have an option to terminate the lease if your business performs poorly, in a worst-case scenario you are faced with personal bankruptcy or funding an operating deficit for a long period of time.

1. Defective Plumbing Defective plumbing can manifest itself in two different ways: leaking, and clogging.A visual inspection can detect leaking, and an inspector will gauge water pressure by turning on all faucets in the highest bathroom and then flushing the toilet. If you hear the sound of running water, it indicates that the pipes are undersized. If the water appears dirty when first turned on at the faucet, this is a good indication that the pipes are rusting, which can result in severe water quality problems.

2. Damp or Wet Basement An inspector will check your walls for a powdery white mineral deposit a few inches off the floor, and will look to see if you feel secure enough to store things right on your basement floor. A mildew odor is almost impossible to eliminate, and an inspector will certainly be conscious of it. It could cost you $200-$1,000 to seal a crack in or around your basement foundation depending on severity and location. Adding a sump pump and pit could run you around $750 - $1,000, and complete waterproofing (of an average 3 bedroom home) could amount to $5,000-$15,000. 3. Inadequate Wiring and Electrical Your home should have a minimum of 100 amps service, and this should be clearly marked. Wire should be copper or aluminum. Home inspectors will look at octopus plugs as indicative of inadequate circuits and a potential fire hazard.

4. Poor Heating and Cooling Systems Insufficient insulation, and an inadequate or a poorly functioning heating system, are the most common causes of poor heating. While an adequately clean furnace, without rust on the heat exchanger, usually has life left in it, an inspector will be asking and checking to see if your furnace is over its typical life span of 15-25 yrs. For a forced air gas system, a heat exchanger will come under particular scrutiny since one that is cracked can emit deadly carbon monoxide into the home. These heat exchangers must be replaced if damaged - they cannot be repaired.

5. Roofing Problems Water leakage through the roof can occur for a variety of reasons such as physical deterioration of the asphalt shingles (e.g. curling or splitting), or mechanical damage from a wind storm. When gutters leak and downspouts allow water to run down and through the exterior walls, this external problem becomes a major internal one.

6. Damp Attic Spaces Aside from basement dampness, problems with ventilation, insulation and vapor barriers can cause water, moisture, mold and mildew to form in the attic. This can lead to premature wear of the roof, structure and building materials. The cost to fix this damage could easily run over $2,500.

7. Rotting Wood This can occur in many places (door or window frames, trim, siding, decks and fences). The building inspector will sometimes probe the wood to see if this is present - especially when wood has been freshly painted.

8. Masonry Work Re-bricking can be costly, but, left unattended, these repairs can cause problems with water and moisture penetration into the home which in turn could lead to a chimney being clogged by fallen bricks or even a chimney which falls onto the roof. It can be costly to rebuild a chimney or to have it repainted.

9. Unsafe or Over-fused Electrical Circuit A fire hazard is created when more amperage is drawn on the circuit than was intended. 15 amp circuits are the most common in a typical home, with larger service for large appliances such as stoves and dryers. It can cost several hundred dollars to replace your fuse panel with a circuit panel.

10. Adequate Security Features More than a purchased security system, an inspector will look for the basic safety features that will protect your home such as proper locks on windows and patio doors, dead bolts on the doors, smoke and even carbon monoxide detectors in every bedroom and on every level. Even though pricing will vary, these components will add to your costs. Before purchasing or installing, you should check with your local experts.

An emergency kit would help you deal with the situation. In it you should have an "Emergency" sign and flares so you can signal that you need help. And then other motorists would also know that you are stationary on the road. This would prevent further accidents from happening. This would also let people who are coming to help you like the roadside service to locate you much easier.

You should have flashlights in the car or even in your purse too. This would help you see properly especially when you get stranded at night. It would also help illuminate certain parts of the vehicle if you are trying to do certain repairs or even when simply checking it out. It you are out in a dark area, it sure feels safer when you have a flashlight.

In cases of flat tires bringing an air pump would be good idea so you can pump some air on the tires so you can at least travel to the nearest tire repair station. If the roadside service would not be able to go to your location that soon, you would be able to bring your car to the repair station. If you are capable of changing tires, you can also do it. But you should have a spare and the necessary tools.

Engine overheating is quite common. So if it happens to you, simply raise the hood so the engine can cool down. Of course, you may want to check the cause of overheat as there could be more serious problems as well. On the other hand, if the engine or the battery dies you may need a pro to check up the car. This is when membership with an auto club may help. It would be more convenient to seek assistance. And it may end up cheaper as well.

On the Road to Profits in China's Auto Sector

 Ever wonder how many cars are on the road in China? The estimates vary, ranging from 25 million to over 100 million. It seems no one really knows.

The Chinese auto sector had been sizzling, even overtaking the U.S. as the biggest car market in the world. With a middle class of over 300 million in a rapidly expanding Chinese economy, buying a car is paramount to the Chinese. However, the growth has been on the decline this year, as the government ended its tax incentives and jacked up taxes in order to streamline the number of new cars hitting the already clogged Chinese roads.

The Chinese car market grew 32% in 2010, but is estimated to falter to a mere three to five percent this year, according to the State Information Center.

So, while the Chinese auto sector will stall, it is clearly not dead. The demand for cars continues to be extremely high, as income levels continue to rise.

The key in China will be the rapid growth of the country's middle class. Credit Suisse predicted that the household wealth in China will double to $35.0 trillion by around 2015 based on achieving sustainable GDP growth at or near the current growth rate.

I have been a big supporter of the Chinese auto sector. Yes, the sector has slowed, but the massive potential is just too great to ignore. If you are patient, you need to have some capital in some of the Chinese auto-parts stocks or a play via U.S. automakers.

A lower-risk play on China's auto sector is General Motors Company (NYSE/GM). (Note that this is not a recommendation to buy the stock, but just an example to give you an idea of your options in this area.)

If you want to play via an U.S. automaker for less risk, General Motors is the top auto seller in China. GM and its Chinese partners (SAIC Motor and FAW Group) sold 2.35 million vehicles in 2010, well above the company's U.S. sales. The automaker is focusing its growth in China, as it feels the steady rise in the middle class will drive the demand for cars. GM will invest a minimum of $5.0 billion in China to try to reach a sales target of five million vehicles by 2015.

There is clearly some slowing in the Chinese auto market, but I view dips as an opportunity to buy for those with a longer-term view.

Consider that only about 41 in 1,000 Chinese own vehicles, according to some industry pundits. There is clearly ample room for growth, especially as the income levels continue to rise. This fact will drive vehicle sales going forward to the point where China will likely remain the top auto market in the world.

There are numerous ways to play the Chinese auto sector. You can buy an auto company on an American stock market with exposure to China, such as the major global automakers, as I discussed. Alternatively, you can buy Chinese auto-parts makers. Some interesting Chinese auto plays include China Automotive Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ/CAAS), Wonder Auto Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ/WATG), and SORL Auto Parts, Inc. (NASDAQ/SORL). Again, these are examples, not buy recommendations.

Automobile - An Inseparable Part Of Our Life

 Around the world, there were about 806 million cars and light trucks on the road in and the engines of these burns over a billion cubic meters of petrol/gasoline and diesel fuel yearly. Today car is not considered luxury by most it has become a necessity.

Finance companies and Loans and availability of used cars have made it more convenient to own. Can you imagine the world without any single automobile? It's impossible to even imagine world without automobiles.

The first working steam-powered vehicle was designed by Ferdinand Verbiest, in China around 1672. It was a 65 cm-long scale-model toy for the Chinese Emperor.

Then somewhere in 1752, Leonty  Shamshurenkov, a Russian peasant, constructed a human-pedaled four-wheeled "auto-running" carriage, and subsequently proposed to equip it with odometer and to use the same principle for making a self-propelling sledge.
But the large-scale, production manufacturing of affordable automobiles was debuted by Ransom Olds at his Oldsmobile factory in 1902 based on the assembly line techniques pioneered by Marc Isambard Brunel.

Today's well known automobile manufactures around the World are Toyota, GM, Volkswagen, Ford, Nissan, Honda, PSA, Suzuki, Renault, Fiat, Daimler AG, Chrysler, BMW. Total of 77,743,862 automobiles were manufactured together by all for year 2010 as per records. These 4wheels not only drives our lives but the economies or the whole world in other words.

This is a great achievement as per economic growth, technology, development and living standards. But it is causing some serious bad effects to the nature globally, which we all are aware and concerned. Our Automobile manufacturers have already begun to manufacture vehicles with alternative powers or fuel which claim to be very low in harmful gas emissions. Rapid development is on to produce more eco- friendly and fuel efficient cars all over the world. New and better versions are added frequently.

Japan's contribution to automobile industry of the world started in 1960s with launch of new small cars in Japan. These small cars featured very small engines (from 360cc to 600cc) which kept taxes very low as compared to large cars. More and people in Japan could afford a car and brought about a boom in car demands in Japan market. Rapidly rising domestic demand and the expansion of Japanese car companies into foreign markets in the 1970s further accelerated growth.

During 1970s, and 1980s, the Japanese manufacturers like Mitsubishi and Honda gained a major foothold in the US and other world markets.  Export of Car was real high during this period. Japanese manufacturers produced very affordable, reliable, and popular cars throughout the 1990s, and Japan became the largest car producing nation in the world in 2000.
